Blue Lake Pools has designed and built swimming pools across greater Durban since Mike Black founded the firm in 1955. Wayne Black and his mother Merle now run it, and the team keeps every stage of construction in-house rather than subcontracting the work out.

The company employs more than fifty people and takes on work ranging from suburban garden pools to competition lap pools with starting blocks, an indoor heated pool, a rooftop pool on a coastal apartment block and resort-scale lagoon pools with rock waterfalls.
