The business started in 1992 as JVR Thatchers in Secunda, doing thatching and decking work. It moved to Nelspruit in 2001, trading as JVR Thatch and Pool, and took its current name in 2009.

Gunite pool construction is the core of the work, including overflow and splash pools, with marbelite and Beadcrete finishes, pool renovations, pool covers, and wooden decking for surrounds and entertainment areas.

Four pool teams and one decking team carry out the work, and around 70 percent of the staff have been with the company for more than ten years. Mario handles enquiries for Mpumalanga and Limpopo, while Keith looks after KwaZulu-Natal.
