MacD Designer Pools

The main ambit of our work has changed over the years from being predominantly a Gunite pool specialist, to being involved on many new builds in and around Cape Town.     This sphere of work deals with turning a structure which is built by the Main Contractor into the finished product.   So advising on and completing all works with regards to the internal finish, tiling, rimflow, water features, automated covers, lighting and strip lighting to mention a few.  Pools have changed from being a functional element to purely enable swimming to becoming the standout feature of the home, and we are in the forefront of this change in emphasis.

The Gunite construction side of the business is still in full swing and we are one of the few companies who still have our own Gunite rig and inhouse labour who construct these shells in the traditional way.
Gunite is a sand, cement mix which is pressure sprayed against a steel frame, which leaves the shape and the size of a pool almost entirely open, and in most cases a more reasonable proposition cost wise than a traditionally built pool (brick or concrete). 

The third arrow to our quiver is the renovation side of the business, from modernising a dated pool to converting an existing one to a rimflow edge or water feature or just a full refurbishment of the entire inside surface to turn an old pool into a new one again.   

We are an old fashioned company who do not send your details to outside contractors to do the work unsupervised, and the same people handle a job from quoting through to installation, with the emphasis on the detail of the finish.
