Serenity Pools builds exclusively in gunite and hand-packed concrete, and argues the case for it openly: a sprayed shell can follow any shape, depth or size a garden demands, rather than the garden being reshaped around a moulded pool.
The published build spec is unusually specific. Reinforcing is Y10 steel set at 150mm to 200mm centres, the gunite shell goes on 120mm to 150mm thick against a standard of 80mm to 100mm, and thicker again through the coves and the floor. The shell is hosed down daily for at least seven days to cure before copings, mosaics and filtration follow.
Alongside new pools the team builds splash pools, free-standing structural pools on sloped sites, and complete renovations of tired concrete pools. Work carries a five-year guarantee against faulty workmanship on the structure, water tables and tree roots.
