Hand packing is a labour-intensive way of building a concrete pool: the mix is placed and compacted by hand rather than sprayed, which lets the shell follow whatever shape a site or a client calls for. Each pool is built to order rather than dropped into a standard mould.
Renovation is the other half of the work. Older pools are relined in marbelite or fibreglass, and coping and paving are redone where the surround has aged alongside the pool.
