Koi in orange, white and gold stir the surface of this dark-lined pond, which is crossed by massive irregular granite slabs forming a stepping-stone path through beds of ferns, delicious monster and ornamental grasses.

About this pool
A bronze sculpture of leaping buck arcs over the water at one corner, while the glass pavilion behind opens the whole scene onto a hazy mountain panorama. The garden earned Island Pools a Gold Award in the Water Features category at the 2025 NSPI Awards for the Western Cape.
